If that is supposed to be the panel bond, I vote no, because the screw is likely not making good contact with the enclosure. |

I say no. That is not the approved bonding bar/clamp for the panel bond.

Tim is righter than I am. Even if the screw is making good contact it wouldn't be right because that ain't what the slotted hole is there for. |

That's kinda like the metal boxes that have all those little holes all over them that are used to mount the box, and then there's that one little raised threaded hole which is for the attachment of that little green screw. ------------------ Tim Moreira Suncoast Home Inspections Suncoasthomeinspections@yahoo.com =================================== Books-Reports-Scheduling-Tools |

Thanks. No two of those panels are bonded to the same point internally, BTW. [This message has been edited by Michael Thomas (edited March 25, 2007).] |

No, it is not.See the way that is recessed back toward the wall? The ones made for grounding and bonding terminals are bumped out from the back to the inside of the panel. They are made to accept short threaded screws which, when all the way, are still not long enough to touch the wall - that's the reason for the hump they are in. The feet go back 1/4", the hump for the ground terminal bars come in 1/4", that leaves room for a 1/2" long screw (of the proper type too). ------------------ Jerry Peck Ormond Beach (i.e., Daytona Beach area) =================================== Books-Reports-Scheduling-Tools |

Sure looks like a sheet metal screw, possibly going into the framing. The use of sheet metal screws for this purpose is specifically not allowed by the NEC. |

In my area....grouding connections to any piece of sheet metal has to be either a tapped hole or a nut and bolt connection. |
