Do any of you ever wonder what these people on this board look like?Like George, Richard, Jerry, Susan, Scott, Chad, Brooks, Tony, Gary, Russel, and the many others. Lets post a pic and see who we're talking to? It would be nice to have a face for a name. Who'll go first? |

Well, it's to bad we didn't meet but there'll be other conferences I'm sure and I have no problem venturing down that way!! Take care, Sue |

HELP! I finally was able to compress them but they don't load for me now. What am I missing? This is why I use written reports. It would not look good to have me jumping up and down on a notebook swearing onsite. |

Jim,1 - Be sure the file name has NO spaces in it. 2 - Be sure the size of the file is less than 50k. That should solve about 90% of the problems I had... ------------------ -DON- * Artificial Intelligence: What you rely upon when the real stuff fails * |

Jim,You only need to take the slashes out if they are actually in the file name. Another problem that sometimes happens is another person has named a file exactly the same as your file. It happens sometimes with files that are automatically named by your camera. Or, you uploaded a file that wouldn't display, fixed the problem and tried to upload the same file again....won't work. That one had me scratching my noggin for a few minutes too!! ------------------ -DON- * Artificial Intelligence: What you rely upon when the real stuff fails * |

Rick,Small Custom builder in North Collin County from 93-97, based out of Celina. Ashton Woods in Plano, Frisco, and Corinth from 97-00. Pasquinelli Portrait Homes (townhomes) Plano, from 00-01. I goofed and took a gig with Emerald homes. What a nightmare, and not one of my better decisions, they gave me the old "offer I couldn't refuse" in my first interview--should have been a red flag but my vision was clouded by dollar signs. I was there for about 3 months before they were purchased by Horton. Totally upset the applecart for me. That turn of events is what helped me make the decision to inspect (jury still out on that one). You look somewhat familiar too. There are a ton of people in the construction biz, but it is a relatively small world. I still see old subs when I visit Home Depot. Maybe this could help put the puzzle pieces together. "I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I intended to be." Don't know who wrote that, but it fits.

Guys and gals, I gotta tell ya, this has been one of the best threads I have seen in a long time. Mr. Hagarty, thanks for posting, good to see you here. Russel R, thanks. (and everyone else, thanks.) There have been a lot of names and pictures of people I haven't seen here in awhile. Welcome, and welcome back. Some of you look exactly like I imagined (although I don't spend a lot of time thinking about it), and there are others that I couldn't have been further off. There are 3000+ members of I.N., and about 60 pictures. There are a lot of people we haven't heard from. Scott, About the only thing my girls got from me was internal, the rapier sharp wit and the odd/warped sense of humor (think Harold & Maude). This has got to be one of best if not the BEST ideas that someone has ever come up with. This really opens up our eyes and personalizes who we are. When I look at some of these photos I get a terrific sense of family who each one of us are. With all of that mooshy stuff in mind, I will have to continue my typical BS and I havae the following comments which some of you may find funny and some of you may take offense to. Either way, just some fun. Reminder, this is all in fun!! Brian Hannigan: Who picks out your shirts? Rick Hurst: Did you find any defects on that roof you were looking at? Why the ladder at that point? Richard Moore: Your photo looks like a skit from SNL about a sperm bank. Tony Mount: Where you holding on because you were afraid of heights in that attic? George Moomaw: I still think you are one of the folks sitting at the table. Chad Fabry: Do you have any other photos of your wife with you not in them? I am tired of this crop and paste I am doing for my background. Bob White: were you sober for that pic? Ed Porter: Is the truck holding you up or are you holding your son up? Ralph Stakely: Where are your hands exactly? Robby Ryon: Are you posing for a "Build a Bear" contest? Nick Ostrowski: Your kid looks like he is in the middle of filling his diaper while on your shoulders. Me (1st pic): Probably true in the morning. Me (2nd pic): Enough to scare Santa off the roof and out of the country. Jeff Pope: A picture better suited for an adverstisement for a funeral director. Joe Griffin: The only thing missing is your inmate number at the bottom of your picture. Joe Hancaviz: How heavy was that galvanized container you were holding up like Hercules? Frank Bombardiere: You look to happy to be sitting on just one protruding fence post. Philip Smith: Were you posing in the same attic as Tony Mount? Don Matthews: About that "deer in the headlights look" Joe Nernberg: You look awful similar to Joe Hagarty. (Hagarty's pic he posted must be old) Paul Maclean: Could we get a new photo after 15 years please!!? Rick Bunzel: Nice pic but I think it might just attract grizzly or polar bears. Gerry Beaumont: Just as I expected Will Campbell: Can I have the name of the manufacturer of that couch? I never saw a couch big enough to seat six. Kevin VanderWarf: How important was that phonecall at that time? Bob Ross: You may have aged but those boys look like a dog after all these years. Erby: Another trip to the fish market I see. How much did you pay the butcher to pose with those? Dennis R: Nice try to hide your arrest photo by telling us that officer of the law was your son. We know better. Jim Modzeleski: Not many Polish men can get repect from their wives so don't worry about it too much. The kelbasa truck is coming soon. Ralph Stakely: Did you have to ruin it for all of us and tell us it was your grandaughter? I mean really!! Did you have to!!!?? Russel Ray: Some day the right family will come by and adopt you. With a pair of bib overalls and a paint brush you may just make it on the next great brand of paint there Mr. Dutch Boy. Neal Lewis: Who is that guy you are giving a ride to?? Gunnar: God bless your children. Don Lawson: Did you go the same fish market as Erby? Whos camera did you use? Brian Goodman: Thank Goodness the children look like their mother. Scott Patterson: Did you tell your son what is going to happen to his hair when he gets to be your age yet? Jeff Pope (helper photo): Is she for hire and will she shovel snow like I do? Russel Ray: If NACHI is your domestic partner I can recommend a divorce attorney. Lloyd Dobler: you were not kidding "better half" Joseph P Hagarty: Exactly how old is that picture? Is a pic that old legal to post as a representation of yourself? Jack Feldman: I think you are a little premature calling yourself a geezer. There are other more appropriate word that can be used to describe your picture. OK, I am running out of comments for your photos. (notice i did make fun of myself) If you are still looking for a smart butt comment about your photo, keep uploading. I hope all had fun! ------------------ Jeff Remas REMAS Inspections, Inc. Jeff,I agree this has been a great thread. It is weird how you come up with an idea of what someone may look like and then when you see their picture you are surprised. This thread has been a nice change from all the mud slinging we've seen on here lately. Who came up with this idea anyway? Rick |

I wasn't wearing my glasses, that's probably what is missing for the geekiness factor. I take them off after doing the exterior and roof - I can see okay close up without them. Need bifocals except that I need bifocals with the magnifier up, in the center and down, depends on what I'm looking at.I keep thinking of making my own glasses, that would have taken the geek meter full scale - two sets of lens and two frames, with the first one hinging up. That would let me see well far away and close up, except that far away would be the norm, and that would require the first lens to be in the raised position most of the time (like clip-on sunglasses always being 'up'). That would be a true geek fashion statement. ------------------ Jerry Peck South Florida |

Normal (as normal as I get) outfit except for the leather 'the outback from down under' type hat I wear when outside. Not much into girls in high school, just a nerdy good-for-nothin' surfer dude (now, is that an oxymoron or what: 'nerdy' 'surfer dude'). Fast cars driven fast, yes. Now, I'm just an Old Fart private building inspector. Get to tell the builder of that $7 mil house that his flat roof (probably about 2,000 sf is flat roof and ties into the barrel tile roof) is *FLAT-FLAT*, not the required 1/4" per foot slope, not even the 1/8" per foot slope shown on the plans. In fact, I get to tell him that some of it is reverse sloped at 3/8" per foot toward the center (definite ponding water issues in the not-too-distant-future) And that his stairway does not meet code (along with a whole bunch of other things). I think I'll be making a new 'friend'. ------------------ Jerry Peck South Florida [This message has been edited by Jerry Peck (edited February 24, 2005).] |

Thank you Gentlemen for your kindness. I feel welcomed. I noticed that there aren't too many inspectors in the North East posting. We do have some funny "norms" in RI regarding uniform code. Meaning, it isn't followed! My ex-husband was a plumber, he hated working in RI for that reason. You know, between house traps and lead pipes... |

Jeff, If you want to ride along when you're visiting the Ocean State let me know. It would be enlightening to witness a different perspective. BTW, Cumberland is a nice area. Country"ish" yet close to everything. |

"Gentlemen", aw shucks, ma'am, now I'm blushin'. Must admit your photo is much better than mine. Stick around long enough and we'll throw some dirt at you, stick around longer and you'll throw some on us. All in the name of good clean education and fun. Glad to have you here to teach us some manners, ma'am. Sue, now you've got some help on your side. ------------------ Jerry Peck South Florida [This message has been edited by Jerry Peck (edited February 25, 2005).] |
